Our award-winning research is celebrated around the world, and we’re proud of our strategic partnerships. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for NTU students graduating in July 2023 (or those who have graduated in the past 12 months) to gain experience of working within an international student support context in the Department of Student Support Services at NTU.

Reporting to the International Student Support Co-ordinators, you will support the provision of immigration advice to international students and the organisation and delivery of welcome events for new international students. This involves advising students (remotely and face to face, via group briefings and individually) on the requirements and application process for student visa applications, Graduate Route applications and the immigration rights and responsibilities of international students. Due to the student-facing nature of this role, the post holder will be expected to work on site (city campus mainly, with occasional visits to other NTU campuses).

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to understand and apply complex regulations and processes. You will be proficient in a range of software applications, have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage competing demands in a busy environment. You will receive appropriate training to become familiar with the UK immigration rules and regulations affecting international students.

The job specification is attached below. This details the responsibilities of the role, and identifies the skills, knowledge, experience and competencies we are seeking for the role. Please use these documents to assess your suitability for the role, and include a personal statement in your application, which clearly demonstrates how you meet the requirements for the role. CVs alone will not be accepted.

Closing Date: 4th June 2023

Interview Date: w/c 19th June 2023

For an informal discussion regarding this position, please contact either Catherine Coles ([email protected]) or Catherine Millet ([email protected]), International Student Support Co-ordinators.
